New resource: Keeping mentally healthy in retirement

Retirement is an exciting chapter in your life! There is more time to do the things you enjoy, spend time with family and friends, explore different hobbies, and set yourself new, meaningful challenges. In saying that, any life change that you go through can be unsettling and bring about uncertainty which may impact your mental wellbeing. We have realised a new resource encouraging retirees, and those who are transitioning into retirement, to boost their mental health and well-being through a few simple steps.

Don't let winter rain on your parade!

It’s that time of year again where the daylight gets shorter, the weather cools down and our lakes and dams start to fill up again. For some people, this time of year is particularly difficult as the change of season can lead to a decrease in physical activity and leave people feeling unhappy and isolated from friends and family.

The change in weather doesn’t have to negatively affect our mental health, there are many great ways to stay active, belong and commit throughout winter!

Act-Belong-Commit is a mental health promotion campaign that encourages individuals to take action to protect and promote their own mental wellbeing.

Expressions of Interest wanted from service providers to host a free interactive workshop for staff and consumers to learn about how Act-Belong-Commit in Recovery can support recovery from addictions and mental health problems by promoting positive behaviours that build and strengthen mental wellness.
