The Act-Belong-Commit Avon Descent is coming!

Competitors challenge the Avon and Swan Rivers in a variety of power and paddle craft. The Avon Descent is an exciting two-day time trial over 124 gruelling kilometres offering competitors conditions ranging from long stretches of flat water that can test the endurance of the fittest athlete through to rapids, sure to test the skills of all who attempt to navigate their unknown contours.

In 2012 the event celebrates its 40th Anniversary. Northam's Avon Descent Association (NADA) has planned to celebrate the occasion by additional activities including the creation of Avon Descent Legends and their announcement at a formal dinner to be held prior to this year's event. Also planned are a 30 minute DVD on the events history, anniversary posters and t-Shirts, complimentary gifts for volunteers and a volunteer thank you party following the event.
