Colouring can be an enjoyable alternative to meditation or mindfulness, and can be used as a way to reduce feelings of stress or anxiety. In particular, colouring-in a mandala (geometric shape) or structured colouring has been found to be more effective in reducing anxiety than unstructured colouring.
