Reading For Leisure
About Reading For Leisure
Reading is a great way to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Some people read to learn, some to escape, some for entertainment and some to simply pass the time.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself to get you thinking about turning reading into your hobby.
- What types of books do you love to read?
It doesn’t matter what you read as long as you enjoy it! Read books within a subject area that interests you or ask friends what they’ve enjoyed reading recently.
- Where do you like to read?
The great thing about reading is you can do it anywhere, find a spot that is relaxing for you.
- How do you like to read?
You can read paperback books, online, or consider listening to audiobooks or podcasts.
- How can you share your love of reading?
Consider joining or starting your own book club, or reading as a family. You might also be interested in reading volunteer programs which exist to help promote reading to school-age children.
