There is more to gardening than just watering, planting and composting. It is also a healthy hobby that provides some of the essential ingredients for good mental health – fresh air, connection, and creativity! Getting involved in gardening, looking after plants or working on a project gives the opportunity to focus on something meaningful.
Here are some ways you can involve gardening into your day:
- Start a gardening project, like a herb garden! This can be a great family project or one you can do on your own.
- If you don’t have a garden of your own, contact your local shire to find a community garden in your area or grab some friends and start a gardening project!
- Your local community garden may also need some helping hands, so why not see if you can volunteer with them?
