Stargazers Club WA – Various locations across WA
“We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” - Oscar Wilde
Stargazers Club WA is all about stargazing and astronomy for beginners. It’s a wonderful hobby to have. It allows us to make sense of our universe and decipher the science behind our galaxies.
WA is blessed with some of the darkest night skies in the world and with Perth being the most isolated capital city in the world, means you don’t have to travel very far from the bright city lights to experience some beautiful night skies full of stars and witness some astonishing sights. Also, with WA being in Earth’s Southern Hemisphere, you get to see the best part of the Milky Way Galaxy! This all makes stargazing in Western Australia so intriguing, wondrous and mystifying! We are the envy of the world.
Throughout the year, Stargazers Club WA run regular events to help you discover astronomy, learn more about telescopes and find out what to see in the Western Australian night sky.
Our PhotoStories - Wheatbelt
Our PhotoStories provides an opportunity to see ‘behind the curtain’ of Australian life as it really is. By doing so, you get to take a peek at the most heart-warming and fascinating of moments, that may have previously been taken for granted. Even though this country is big and towns are small, creativity is scattered in the most unusual places.
PhotoStories Workshop is a traveling photography workshop, teaching participants all about visual storytelling and photography, and empowering people with a creative way to engage with their surroundings and each other, both in person and online. Participants can use their cameras and any devices available to them. On completion of workshop, participants are given the project of photographing their own photo-story.
