VenuesWest continues its commitment to giving back to those in need through its successful Community Partners Program in 2018/19 with the addition of another charity.

VenuesWest would like to welcome Mentally Healthy WA to the Program for a two year period. Autism West, Starlight Children’s Foundation and St Vincent de Paul Society WA will be continuing for another year as stipulated in their contract, however Make a Wish and Superfins contracts have elapsed as of 30 June 2018.

VenuesWest CEO David Etherton says “I am looking forward to working with Mentally Healthy WA for the next two years and believe their Act-Belong-Commit campaign is a great way to encourage people who are experiencing mental illness to get involved in their community and to help them adopt a healthier way of living.”

“On behalf of VenuesWest I would like to thank Superfins and Make a Wish for their contribution to the Community Partners Program since its inception in 2016. We are proud to have been able to provide a range of tailored opportunities and benefits to assist them in achieving their important community work,” said Mr Etherton.
“We decided this year we would partner with four organisations to be able to maximise our benefits and resources to a manageable pool of charitable organisations”

Mentally Healthy WA’s vision is to work toward a society that values mental health and where everyone has the opportunity to be mentally healthy. Furthermore, Mentally Healthy WA operates Act-Belong-Commit, a promotional campaign that aims to change attitudes towards mental health by encouraging people to be more open about mental health issues and inspire people to engage in activities that strengthen their mental well-being.

Programs include Youth Connectors, Mentally Healthy Schools WA, Aboriginal (Standing Strong Together) and the Pilbara Capacity Building Program.

Amberlee Nicholas, Mentally Healthy WA’s Campaign Manager says “We are excited to be joining the VenuesWest Community Partner Program, and see this as an amazing opportunity to partner with an organisation, who shares our vision for a mentally healthy WA.”

“We look forward to working with the VenuesWest team to provide incredible experiences to Western Australians from all walks of life, helping them to act, belong and commit to strengthen their mental health and overall wellbeing,” said Ms Nicholas.
