Christmas 2018 with Perth Active Depression Support Group

Posted 10 Dec 2018

Perth Active Depression Support Group (Perth ADSG) is looking to assist those who identify with a lived experience of mental health issues to cope with the festive season.

Founded in June 2016 by Rahul Seth, a Chartered Accountant and mental health change maker, the group has a mission of “Coming Together Through Recreation” to improve the mental health of its members.

As at 23rd November 2018, the membership of the group features a membership base of 1,828 members on the social networking site meetup, with over 20 hosts running an event for the group members on almost a daily basis.

The group has scheduled three specific Christmas themed events in December, including attending a Christmas quiz night in Subiaco, a Christmas themed board games night in Victoria Park & a Christmas brunch in Perth, to compliment the wise array of other meetup opportunities offered by the group ranging from origami nights, gentle walks and coffee catch ups. Group founder Rahul Seth has also pledged to run an event every two days between Boxing Day & New Year’s Day inclusive.

“Christmas is often a period I struggle with, not due to the festivities & the day itself, but with the stillness of the world as everyone takes a much needed break” says group founder Rahul Seth. “I’m hoping we can offer the Perth community something to look forward to in this often difficult period”.
